What is the best way to burn the most calories?

We are all looking for that one exercise – the holy grail of fat burning – that will ensure we burn the most fat as fast as possible.

Fat-burning workouts can basically be broken down into three categories: cardio, resistance training, and cardio plus resistance training.

  • CARDIO: An example would be riding a stationary bike with varying levels of resistance.
  • RESISTANCE TRAINING: An example would be a weights workout in the gym.
  • CARDIO PLUS RESISTANCE TRAINING: An example is combining both workouts such as lifting weights while performing step-ups. This is also known as concurrent training

If pure fat loss is your goal, a combination of cardio and resistance training in the same workout is the way to go.

 

An example of an effective fat-burning workout:

➔10 push-ups

➔20 jumping jacks

➔10 squats or lunges

➔20 jumping jacks

➔10 crunches

➔10 dumbbell squat presses

➔20 jumping jacks

Alternatively, you can also burn more calories when you perform cardio first followed by weight lifting, as opposed to either in isolation. Exercise on its own won’t do much to make you lose weight, though. If your goal is to slim down you have to combine a suitable diet with exercise to see real improvement in your body composition.
