It wasn’t an easy decision to determine who the top 6 would be in the #BiogenFaceOfFitness2021, but after much deliberation by the judges we now have 6 aspiring fitness models who will embark on their 3 day photoshoot experience, all competing for the cover of Fitness magazine. We caught up with them prior to their big photo shoot experience to get to know them better!
What made you decide to enter the Biogen Face of Fitness?
The desire to align myself with brands within the health, wellness & fitness space that not only align with my longterm goals and ambitions, but whose philosophies, key values and principles resonate with me.
What would you say you are most excited about with regards to the competition?
Growth, the inevitable outcome that comes with stepping out of your comfort zone.
Did you ever think you would make it this far?
Absolutely. I am a firm believer that our thoughts create our realities. Allowing my thoughts to wander off in any other direction was never an option.
What do you hope to achieve through being in the Final 6 of the Biogen Face of Fitness?
I hope to inspire at least someone out there to step out of their comfort zone and chase a dream they’ve been procrastinating.
Where/ when/ how did your fitness journey begin?
My fitness journey began in 2017 as I tried to navigate my way through a difficult transition in my life. I took solace in every moment I spent in the gym, experiencing an overwhelming sense of calmness and peace.
How do you think fitness has changed your life?
My commitment to fitness has shown me the inevitability of the success that comes with anything that is backed by consistency and self-discipline. This has helped me to value and apply these principles in every other aspect of my life.
What are some of your favourite ways to keep healthy and active?
Definitely my daily dose of the gym, hiking and making the conscious effort to increase my NEAT wherever I can whether its taking the stairs or ditching an Uber ride for a walk.
How do you intend to inspire other women to pursue becoming the best version of themselves?
My goal is to simplify the chaos that consumes the health and fitness space and encourage mindset shifts away from instant gratification towards longevity. I am determined to educate women and provide them with the tools to filter out the myths and misconceptions and make informed decisions. In everything I do, I will strive to shift the focus to what actually matters, that is, valuing the principles of consistency, self-discipline and sustainable habit formation as well as the importance each individuals unique why. I am confident that as long as each decision made is upheld by these principles they will be well on their way in their unique journeys towards becoming the best versions of themselves and making health and fitness an effortless part of their lifestyles, regardless of which route they choose to take.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time within the fitness industry?
I will be an entrepreneur and the CEO of my very own global health and wellness brand and the founder and/co-founder of several companies dedicated to inspiring and empowering women to become their most elevated selves.
Do you have any other hobbies that you enjoy?
Tanning at the beach, hiking, reading, listening to podcasts, journalling and eating out.
