Protein-packed doughnuts

Opt for less sinful sweet treats with this innovative recipe. It’s packed with protein to maintain muscle and keep your metabolism humming! Go for it, you’ve earned it!

Prep time: 10 mins 

Cook time: 15- 20 mins 

Ingredients for the doughnuts:
  • 1/4 cup Lifestyle Food Almond flour
  • 1/4 cup oat flour
  • 1/4 cup casein protein powder
  • 1 tbsp Lifestyle Food sweetener
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 egg white
  • 30ml almond milk
For the frosting:
  • 20g Whey protein powder
  • 1 tbsp cacao
  • 2 tbsp cottage cheese
  • 1/2 tbsp Lifestyle Food sweetener
  • 3-4 tbsp almond flour
  • Crushed nuts

How to make it
  • Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees.
  • In a blender or mixing bowl, mix the dry ingredients together and then add wet ingredients.
  • Blend or beat everything together until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
  • Pour the batter into a greased doughnut baking tray.
  • Bake for 15-20mins or until a toothpick prick comes out clean. Set aside to cool. Once cool place in the refrigerator for 3 hours.
  • Mix the frosting ingredients together with a fork, adding one spoon of almond milk at a time.
  • Once the doughnuts have finished cooling, ice them with the frosting, add toppings of your choice and enjoy!
