[RECIPE] Beet and Creatine Hummus

Fuel your training session with a vibrant, nutrient-dense twist on a classic dip and spread with this Beet and Creatine Hummus recipe.

Earthy roasted beets bring natural nitrates to support blood flow and stamina, while creatine monohydrate seamlessly blends in for a muscle-boosting prep.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium beet, roasted, peeled, and chopped (or pre-cooked beet)
  • 1 can (400g) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (plus extra for serving)
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled
  • 1 serving Biogen Creatine Monohydrate
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp sea salt (adjust to taste)
  • 2–4 tbsp ice-cold water (as needed for smoothness)

Biogen Creatine Monohydrate is a globally renowned sports nutrition supplement with a proven ability to boost strength, power, and lean body mass. Pure, unflavoured creatine monohydrate is a daily staple for gym-goers, athletes and anyone supplementing for strength, recovery or cognitive support. It mixes cleanly into water, juice, pre-workout, post-workout shakes or recipes without affecting colour or flavour.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C. Wrap the whole beet tightly in aluminium foil and roast for 45–50 minutes, or until easily pierced with a fork.
  2. Allow to cool, peel the skin using a paper towel, and cut into chunks.
  3. In a food processor, combine the tahini and lemon juice. Process for 1 minute until creamy and whipped.
  4. Add the roasted beet, garlic clove, olive oil, ground cumin, and sea salt. Pulse until the beet is broken down and incorporated into a bright pink paste.
  5. Add the rinsed chickpeas and the creatine monohydrate to the food processor.
  6. Process for 2–3 minutes. Drizzle in ice-cold water 1 tablespoon at a time while the processor is running until you achieve a light, creamy texture.
  7. Taste and adjust salt or lemon juice if desired.
