Hibiscus Hot Toddy

[RECIPE] Hibiscus Hot Toddy

This Hibiscus Hot Toddy recipe is a fragrant, soothing, and gently spiced twist on a classic warm drink.

The comforting tart floral notes of hibiscus pair beautifully with citrus, ginger, and cinnamon, creating a vibrant, immune-supporting sip that’s perfect for cooler evenings or when you need a calming reset.

Ingredients

  • 2 hibiscus tea bags
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • ¼ cup sliced fresh ginger
  • Honey, to sweeten

Hibiscus tea is a nutrient-dense, calorie-free beverage packed with powerful antioxidants, particularly anthocyanins and polyphenols, which fight oxidative stress and support cardiovascular health. It’s an excellent caffeine-free source of essential minerals like iron, calcium, and magnesium, alongside a robust dose of vitamin C to bolster immune function. Additionally, the tea contains organic acids, such as malic and citric acid, which aid digestion.

Instructions

  1. Place the hibiscus tea bags, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and ginger into a heatproof jug or pot. Pour over the boiling water.
  2. Steep for 10 minutes to infuse all the flavours.
  3. Sweeten with honey to taste, stir, and serve warm.
