[RECIPE] Red Berry Smoothie Bowl

Start your day with a healthful dose of antioxidants from this berry-licious smoothie bowl recipe.

A diet rich in antioxidants may help reduce the risk of various diseases and help the body recover from hard exercise by reducing free radicals in the body – the reactive molecules that cause oxidative stress.

  • ½ cup fresh raspberries
  • ¼ cup fresh red currants
  • 1 serving Biogen Plant Based Protein, Berry Smoothie flavour
  • 1 medium banana, frozen
  • ½ cup almond milk, unsweetened
  • ½ cup coconut yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp honey

Toppings

  • I strawberry, sliced
  • 1 bunch red currants
  • 1 tbsp low-carb granola
  • Mint leaves

Red fruits such as raspberries and strawberries are rich in the antioxidants lycopene and anthocyanins.

  2. Transfer smoothie mixture to a serving bowl.
  3. Add toppings, and enjoy!
