Lockdown has made keeping fit and healthy that much more challenging and a lot of us have been coasting through the past few weeks feeling demotivated and negative.
With the announcement that gyms are now allowed to reopen, and with spring fast approaching, it’s time to give your mindset a reboot and get back to chasing your goals!
Here are 5 steps to help you reboot your mindset.
Step 1: REALISATION
When addressing any problem, you first need to realise that there is one. Take the time to become aware of how you talk to yourself, your habits, your everyday thoughts, your current mindset and how it impacts your everyday life.
Step 2: EVALUATION
When you decide you want to change your life, you need to evaluate the problem that got you into your current circumstances. Once you’ve done that, you can determine what it is that’s standing in your way of achieving your goals. It’s important to remember that you can’t change something if you don’t understand it.
Step 3: BECOME
Once the problem has been identified and evaluated, the next step is to take action. During this stage, it’s important for you to take deliberate steps towards changing your habits, your daily routine, your thought patterns, your mindset and your negative self talk.
Step 4: OBTAIN
When you’ve succeeded in changing your problem and obtaining a new way of living your everyday life, it’s important to recognise how far you’ve come and celebrate your new-found mindset. After your celebration, make sure you focus on maintaining these changes.
Step 5: OPTIMISE
After you’ve maintained your new state for a while, why not level up and set yourself new goals! This will push you to continuously better yourself.
