[RECIPE] Recovery Brownies

This Recovery Brownies recipe combines the rich chocolate flavour of brownies with the convenience of cookies while packing a protein punch and additional carbs to support recovery after exercise.

These are the ideal post-workout snack or a scrumptious dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth while supporting your muscles and performance.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup smooth nut butter
  • 1 cup mashed brown dates (soak in hot water and blend with some milk or mash with a fork)
  • 1 scoop Biogen Recovergen, Chocolate flavour
  • 80g melted dark chocolate
  • Pinch of salt
  • Chocolate chips

Biogen Recovergen provides the scientifically recommended 4:1 ratio of carbohydrate to protein through fast-acting sources such as maltodextrin and hydrolysed whey protein. Biogen Recovergen is also high in BCAAs, and has been formulated with antioxidants, electrolytes, vitamins and alpha-lipoic acid, providing a good recovery solution for use after strenuous training.

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C.
  2. In a bowl, combine the smooth nut butter and date paste. Add the Biogen Recovergen and melted dark chocolate to the bowl, mixing until smooth.
  3. Scoop the mixture onto a parchment paper-lined baking tray. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of each cookie.
  4. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 12 minutes, or until the cookies are nicely browned on top.
  5. Let the cookies cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these delicious, protein-packed brownie cookies.
  6. Store in an airtight container to keep them fresh for longer.
