[RECIPE] Whey banana bread tiramisu baked oats

Add a dessert-like flavour experience to your morning oats with this whey banana bread tiramisu baked oats recipe.

It’s an indulgent start to your morning with all the protein benefits that come from Biogen Grasss Fed Whey.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats, ground to flour
  • 1-2 scoops Biogen Grass Fed Whey, Vanilla flavour 
  • 1 medium overripe banana, mashed
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup honey or sweetener of choice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Espresso to soak the oats
  • Sliced banana to layer
  • Whipped coconut cream or greek yoghurt of choice
  • Cacao powder to serve

Biogen Grass Fed Whey is formulated without added sugars, preservatives and colourants. Whey protein concentrate is an easily digested protein and is rich in EAAs and BCAAs to promote muscle. Shake it up with water or milk for a healthy snack or meal replacement.

Method

  1. Add the ground oats, protein powder and salt in to a bowl. Gradually add the milk, mashed
    banana, vanilla, sweetener and mix well until there are no lumps.
  2. Pour in to an overproof square ramekin and bake like a cake for 15 minutes at 180°C. Once baked, let it cool.
  3. In a separate bowl, pour in the espresso and whip up the coconut cream. Add more sweetness if you like.
  4. Slice the oat cake either in to equal flat pieces to make it large or down the middle to make a long shape, depending on the container you’re using.
  5. Dip the first layer in the espresso and then add in to your container, then add a layer of banana, whipped cream and cacao powder and repeat with the last layer.
  6. Top off with some more cacao powder, chill for a bit and enjoy!
