The unseasonally warm Spring temperatures across the country may leave you feeling hot under the collar after your gym ‘sesh’.
Try this home-made high-protein ice cream recipe for the perfect high-protein snack to leave you feeling cool, refreshed and ready to kick the next session in the thermometer!
Ingredients
- 2 scoops chocolate whey protein powder
- 80ml milk or unsweetened almond milk
- ½ cup crushed ice
- 1 tbsp cacao nibs
- 1 small banana
Add some extra flavour with: 1 tbs natural peanut butter or almond butter and/or 1 shot of chilled espresso.
Instructions
- Combine ingredients in a blender and mix on high speed.
- Decant contents into two cups or a bowl and place into freezer until firm (usually 45-60 minutes).
Get up to 32g of protein per serving (depending on the brand and protein product used) and a great taste but with fewer calories and sugar than conventional commercial ice creams!
