Two platforms have come together with one goal: to motivate South Africans to live fitter, healthier lives.
The 5 Colour Fitness TV show has partnered with DJ Musique from Durban to encourage South Africa to take on the #5Jive Challenge to create awareness around leading healthier and more active lifestyles.
Focus on your health
The level of stress among South Africans has shot up by 56% since the start of the pandemic, according to research conducted by Pharma Dynamics earlier this year.
The research findings also indicated that 81% turned to unhealthy food, 20% to alcohol, 18% to cigarettes, 6% to smoking cannabis, and 22% to antidepressant or anti-anxiety medication to help them cope with the stressors of the last few months.
DJ Musique and 5 Colour Fitness are encouraging and empowering South Africans to join their movement to manage their stress and lead healthier, happier lifestyles.
The #5Jive Dance Challenge, an inspiration fitness dance put together by a local choreographer, Sufyaan Moosa and FHA Fitness Health and Active trainers, adds a fun element to working out.
Shake your money maker!
What makes this challenge even more encouraging is that there is a cash prize up for grabs!
The #5Jive dance challenge song, named Inhliziyo, has been crafted by local artist DJ Musique and Artchild Africa and provides the perfect inspiration, fit for all South Africans and the dance challenge.
CEO of FHA and presenter of the TV show, Berne van Zyl says: “There is no better way to empower and inspire South Africa after everything the country has been through. This is our way of showing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We are leading by example, showing that there is hope and that we will come out of this together, stronger.”
