It’s easy to feel run down, exhausted and demotivated that not only affects your fitness or weight loss journey but your everyday life as well. I share my top tips that will help you relight your fire, help you find balance, relax and feel happier and healthier.
What I truly want is for women to feel amazing about themselves and their lives. I want to inspire women to find a balance between health, function and fulfilment.
Here are a few things you can do today to relight that fire and to help you feel healthier and more empowered on your journey:
Sleep more
Having a nighttime to revitalise and relax you before you go to bed will make a big difference when it comes to the quality of your sleep. It’s not just about the quantity but also the quality of sleep that you get.
Meditate
Meditation allows you to focus on being in the moment, letting go of stress and it teaches you to practice stress management. Breath-work, yoga and even some journaling are other ways that will help you manage and let go of your stress.
Tea time
There’s more to tea time than just drinking a hot beverage. Not only will the act of drinking tea relax you, but what you drink can have many different health benefits (depending on what you choose). Try out different recipes like raw cacao hot chocolate, turmeric tea and even simple rooibos with some decadent honey! Kick up your feet, grab your latest copy of the magazine, and relax.
Take a warm bath
This should already be a part of your nighttime routine. Invest in some natural blends of bath salts with relaxing scents that will help you relax. This is wonderful to do once the children are in bed or your day of work is done. If you don’t enjoy the silence or get distracted easily then throw on some of your favourite tunes or online books and podcasts. Get lost for a while and enjoy it!
Get to the gym
I do not necessarily mean you need to go all out and burn hundreds of calories every day, I just mean find a form of movement you enjoy. It may be a dance class, a Pilates class or even just a walk with your dogs. Whatever it is – just get moving to release the stress and those endorphins vital to happiness.
Learn to love yourself
Yes, I know this sounds cheesy, but the more you enjoy being with yourself and allowing yourself some me-time, then the better you feel every single day. Leave yourself post it notes on your mirror or in your car that remind you that you are loveable, accepted and enough. We don’t allow ourselves to be enough in this day and age, with the way media has taken over our lives we always feel like we should be more or do more. But guess what? You are enough.
These are just a few tips that help me relax and find balance in my busy schedule and life.
