#StrongWomen and 2017 USN Face of Fitness winner Talitha Jacobs

As we’re gearing up and almost getting ready to start another USN Face of Fitness competition, we take a moment to reflect back and chat to Talitha Jacobs who was crowned the 2017 USN Face of Fitness winner to find out what the experience has been like and what advice she has for this year’s entrants.

How has your experience been so far as the 2017 USN Face of Fitness?

No words can describe the feeling of a dream you’ve had for so many years becoming a reality. I was truly blessed.

What has been the most rewarding experience of the competition?

Featuring on the cover of Fitness Magazine has been the most amazing, rewarding experience 0 I still have to pinch myself some days to make sure that I am not dreaming!

It’s important for USN Face of Fitness winners to stay healthy and always ready to shoot. How do you approach your training and nutrition for this?

I love to change up my workouts to keep it exciting and stimulating. I also mic my weight training with my Dance Fit Cardio sessions and some functional training. With regards to my nutrition, I follow a healthy, balanced diet with a lot of lean protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats, and my weekly cheat meal – it is all about living a healthy lifestyle and finding balance.

Do you have any advice for anyone looking to enter the 2018 USN Face of Fitness?

Just be yourself: focus on what makes you stand out from the crowd and don’t hold anything back. Grab the opportunity with both hands and run with it!

Tell us what a day your life looks like.

I usually start my day with some morning cardio at 5am for 45 minutes. Then I am off to work until 5pm, after which I have my weight training session or Dance Fit Cardio session. To me, a routine is important because it breeds consistency, and consistency gets results.

How do you find time and energy/motivation for work, training and your projects?

My passion drives me. I know what I put in I get out and I am the only one who controls that.

What is your favourite #strongwomen quote?

Be a girl with a mind, I woman with attitude and a lady with class.
