Twelve aspiring fitness models are one step closer to realising their dream, following the announcement of the top 12 in the 2018 USN Face of Fitness cover model search competition.
Over 140 quality entries were received for this year’s competition, which included a new format and entry criteria. Along with the usual questionnaire and profile pictures, entrants were also required to submit a short video.
The deadline for entries was Friday 31 August, which saw the usual last-minute flood of submissions. All entries were processed and posted online, ready for the public voting phase, which took place from 3-10 September.
As part of the new competition format, online voting was open for all the contestants, not just the top 32, as was the case in previous years. The competition organisers introduced this change to condense the format of the competition and allow greater public participation and engagement.

What happens now?
From this select group of ladies, 3 will be chosen to attend the final round photo shoot. Representatives from USN, fitness magazine and Fusion Labs will review the top 12 and will announce the 3 finalists on or before 18 September 2018.
The 3 finalists will be invited on an exclusive all-expenses paid photo shoot experience, which takes place from 26-28 September in Johannesburg.
You’ll be able to follow all the action on the day of the shoot via our social media feeds to experience the event and get to know our 3 finalists.
The eventual winner will be selected based on the strength of her photos, and how well her values align to the brands she will ultimately represent as the 2018 USN Face of Fitness. The winner will ultimately become a USN brand ambassador and fitness magazine spokesmodel, and will represent the fitness industry as a whole.
