Reed Exhibitions, in partnership with the Gauteng Tourism Authority, will be hosting Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson – better known as ‘The Mountain’ in the HBO hit series Game of Thrones – at the FIBO Global Fitness in Africa Festival.
Hafþór (pronounced Half-Thor) is also reigning World`s Strongest Man, a title he won last month in the Philippines. He is the first athlete to win the Arnold Strongman Classic and the World’s Strongest Man competitions in the same calendar year.
In 2015 at the World’s Strongest Viking competition held in Norway, Hafþór carried a 10m, 650kg log for five steps, thus breaking a 1,000-year-old record set by Orm Storolfsson.
“The Mountain” will be signing autographs and will be available for photographs on Saturday 27 October and Sunday 28 October. He will also conduct a 45-minute question and answer session on both days.
Tickets to FIBO are limited and can be purchased via Computicket. The event takes place taking place from 26-28 October 2018 at the TicketPro Dome in Johannesburg. Visit www.fibosa.co.za for more info.
