LMS Team is a platform where fitness enthusiasts from diverse sporting codes form teams of four (two male and two female athletes) to compete against other teams.

Based on the strength of the community, it is not uncommon for athletes from different facilities to enter as a collaborative team. This gives athletes the opportunity to participate with friends, family and fellow fitness enthusiasts at a competitive level.

LMS Team Divisions

The LMS Team event has different divisions that athletes can compete in. Each division caters for different skill and fitness levels and brings its own specialties to the competition floor, so there is never a dull moment. The divisions include:

  • Beginner
  • Intermediate
  • Elite
  • Masters.

As the name implies, the Beginner division is for the newbies. This division is one of the biggest, with more than a hundred teams entering each year. Athletes who compete in this division are normally new to the CrossFit or functional fitness environment and have less than eight months of experience. The camaraderie in this division is a spectacle on its own as teams support and motivate their opposition to push harder.

The Intermediate division is the most competitive and a crowd favourite, and it is always quick to sell out. Cheers of loud voices echo across the field as spectators encourage their favourite teams to complete just one more rep or lift more weight with whatever energy they have to spare.

The Elite division attracts advanced athletes who have mastered the sport’s skills and techniques. The WODs include more technical movements such as muscle ups and hand-stand push ups. The action is impressive to watch and captivates the audience.

The Master’s division is a platform where more seasoned athletes can shine. It’s an inspiring competition to watch and competitors are normally surrounded by their families, which makes the cheers so much more heart-warming.

LMS is an event that brings the whole community together in one big, happy family! It’s a spectacle not to be missed by athletes or fans. The event takes place from 24-26 May 2019 at Marks Park in Johannesburg. Visit www.lms360.net for more info.
