12 finalists one step closer to cover model status

A dozen aspiring fitness models are a step closer to realising their dream after progressing from the top 32 in the 2020 Biogen Face of Fitness cover model search competition.

Following the second round of online voting, and interviews with representatives from Biogen and Fitness magazine, the judges have revealed the 12 contestants vying for a place at the final photo shoot.

From 32 to 12

It has been an intensive process to arrive at the top 12 following the record 351 entries received. The initial round of public voting also set new records as the contestants canvassed social media for votes and support.

With the top 32 selected, another week of online voting opened on Friday, 18 September. When voting closed on 25 September, an additional 5,090 voters had shown their support.

In the end, the judges’ decisions reflected 58% of the popular vote, with both camps sharing a preference for seven of the top 12. The remaining five made it through based on the relative weighting of the judging panel’s vote in the final decision.

“It’s never really an easy decision to make. All our candidates are fitting ambassadors for both brands.” Tanja Schmitz, Fitness Mag publisher.
