The Impi Challenge, powered by Mitsubishi, is hitting Gauteng this weekend (21 May 2016) at the Kings Kloof trail centre at Laurentia Farm in the north west of Johannesburg
Adventure lovers are in for a treat with some incredible obstacles and access to the “best kept secret” trails that Gauteng has to offer. According to the organisers, there are only two small water obstacles that won’t get competitors too wet, making it an attractive event despite the recent dip in daytime temperatures. As has been the case before, throngs of competitive fitness enthusiasts are expected to tackle the purpose-built obstacles on Saturday. What makes the Impi Challenge different to other obstacle races is the emphasis on safety and enjoyment. From the festival vibe at the race village, to challenging but not insurmountable obstacles, with over three distance options to choose from. The family-friendly environment and activities are not only designed to give competitors a great day out but also to appeal to spectators, both young and old, who come and support their loved ones. This will be the first time the new and exciting venue will be used. Kings Kloof is situated on the outskirts of the Cradle of Humankind – under an hour’s drive from both Johannesburg and Pretoria, with easy access from the N14 freeway.
