What are your fitness goals?
Currently, I am aiming at competing in the Fittest in Cape Town next year which is a CrossFit competition. My bigger goal/dream is to compete at the CrossFit Games in America where you could be crowned the Fittest in the World. Dream big or go home, right?
I love looking for the next challenge, something that can test/push me physically and mentally. I have become addicted to CrossFit as it really is a sport which pushes your fitness levels across the board – from cardio and bodyweight training, all the way to weightlifting. The team spirit around the sport is also infectious.
What are your hobbies?
CrossFit, mixed martial arts, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, yoga, weightlifting, surfing, rock-climbing and swimming. Also watching Netflix and chilling with pizza and ice cream (haha, should totally be a sport!).
Do you have any sporting/fitness achievements you would like to share?
2007 – 6th at Miss Bikini & Fitness Competition
2008 – 4th at Miss Bikini & Fitness Competition
2010 – 3rd at ISKA World Kickboxing Championships in USA
2017 – 1st at SA Naturals Championship Miss Bikini Division (Qualified for SA team to Las Vegas)
2017 – 1st at SA Naturals Championship Miss Fitness Model Division (Qualified for SA team to Las Vegas)
Why did you enter the USN Face of Fitness 2017?
I really want to inspire people of all ages to realise that it’s never too late to follow their dreams and do what makes them happy – no matter what it is! After a rollercoaster ride which entailed a divorce, major injuries and leaving a stable job I kept believing that I would reach my dream of being a stunt performer and I am still not done yet! Anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it – positive mind, positive life! Dreams really do become reality! You can follow your own path and do what makes you happy. It’s something I believe a lot of teenagers forget once they are told that they are no longer kids anymore and have to start adulting, as I call it. Don’t lose sight of those incredible dreams you had as a kid. I wanted to be a superhero as a kid, yes it sounds crazy, but you know what, now I am a stunt performer and get to kick-ass for work – I have to pinch myself now and again!
