Tell us more about yourself:
What are your fitness goals?
My main goal is to contribute as much as I can to the fitness industry and to continue to grow my business. I provide personal training to women and children at their homes or in nearby parks.
Once a week I do charity sessions and I would love to get more involved with this as I’ve seen how exercise and fitness can be used as a tool to help people in need. It took me many years and a lot of reprogramming to finally understand how my body works and nothing excites me more than sharing what I’ve learned the hard way with others.
I’ve also started doing Bikini Fitness competitions earlier this year. I’ve met some great people, made good friends and would love to pursue it and see how far I can go.
What are your hobbies?
Except for throwing dumbbells around in the gym, I also love nature and hiking.
As I have a master’s degree in art and theatre management, I always make time for exhibitions and the theatre.
Do you have any sporting/fitness achievements you would like to share?
After spending many years building up my career as a PR manager, I took the brave step to give it all up and finally do what I love. I went back to the books and qualified as a personal trainer and managed to transform my body in ways that I never thought possible.
In the beginning of this year I decided to enter a Fitness Bikini competition. I really enjoyed it, learned a lot about myself and I ended up competing until the end of the season –
3rd place Fitness Bikini at the IFBB Champions Arise
7th place Fitness Bikini at the IFBB Arnold Classic Africa
1st place Fitness Bikini at the IFBB Miss SA Xtreme
1st place and Overall in Fitness Bikini at the IFBB Boksburg Classic
1st place Fitness Bikini at the IFBB H&H Classic
1st place and Overall in Fitness Bikini at IFBB Provincial Championships
2nd place Fitness Bikini at IFBB SA Championships
3rd place Fitness Bikini at IFBB Gentle Giant Classic
Why did you enter the USN Face of Fitness 2017?
Once a week I do charity work at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center by providing free training. My experiences at the center, with the positive feedback received, confirmed to me that exercise has a positive impact on both, physical and mental health. This made me realise that I not only want to inspire others, but I want to genuinely help people to improve themselves. USN Face of Fitness can provide the perfect platform to help me increase my outreach for this.
Also, I’ve received an unexpected invitation to compete at the Arnold Classic’s 30th anniversary in Columbus, Ohio next year. Even though I am going to give my everything while preparing for this competition, I know that to truly succeed I will need a world class brand to support me and who I can go represent. I cannot think of any brand better than USN, who has the quality of products, the expertise and the skills to help an athlete reach his/her maximum potential.
