Entries for the 2016 FNB Wines2Whales (W2W) Mountain Bike (MTB) Events will open on Monday, 15 February 2016.
According to Michael Meyer, FNB W2W MTB Director, entrants can look forward to a mountain biking experience like no other. “Each year we focus on refreshing the rider’s experience both on route and in the festival village. The 2016 event will be no different. Riders can expect a memorable event. We look forward to welcoming all to the start line the first weekend in November.”
“Exciting route upgrades are definitely on the cards for 2016,” says Johan Kriegler, FNB W2W MTB Director. “Stage One will include more scenic sections and contour single tracks, while Stages Two and Three will become even more fun and exciting. We are aiming to establish a long term nature conservation partnership plan with landowners, conservancies and environmental agencies. Our goal will be to systematically replace alien vegetation with indigenous vegetation. Our on route nature conservation efforts, combined with sustainable job creation opportunities will continue to be a driving force of the FNB W2W MTB Team”.
“As proud sponsors of the FNB W2W MTB Events we affirm our dedication to providing an experience that is beyond expectation, through a sport that continues to grow in popularity as one of the key activities on the South African sporting calendar,” added Stephan Claassen, Provincial Head FNB Business Western Cape.
Riders that participated in the 2015 events, or were placed on the 2015 waiting list, can enter the FNB W2W MTB Adventure, Ride or Race on Monday, 15 February 2016 when entries open at 08:00. Both riders in the team need to be on the 2015 database to register during the preferential period.
