Accountability

In our never ending quest to get more motivation and dedication into our fitness routines, many overlook the fact of accountability. I’ve never really overheard anyone use this term in the fitness industry… yet so many people in business use this term as a key driving factor to reach success.

Accountability is real simple… it means that you shall be held “accountable” for your actions. This means that if you make a commitment to do something, you should be answering to someone or something. That’s saying that you’re not alone in this.

Take for instance the last few days. I have a new photo shoot coming up with Cindy Ellis, by this I mean places are swapped for a day, Cindy behind the lens and me in front. Not only is Cindy one of Fitness’ leading photographers, she’s also a fitness girl with a list of accomplishments on the physique circuit. So, I’ve made a commitment to her that I’m going to be in much better shape when she sees me next week. And she’s gonna hold me accountable to it for sure! I’m even keeping her updated with my daily progress.

I can even go one step further and make myself accountable to all YOU fitness girls. (so check back for some more posts btw)

Make a commitment to not only yourself, but to someone else who can be the driving force you need to get your butt out there. If you have a spouse or best friend with similar goals in mind, it will make it a lot easier.

Thanks for keeping me honest Cindy :)

My body fat is dropping but Im not losing weight

I am 24 years old. I exercise 4 times a week, 2 cardio sessions and the other 2 times with a personal trainer.  I have done this for the last 3 months. My body fat % has dropped, and I have lost centimetres, but I don’t loose weight. Why is that? Now the other thing, I’m on the Depot provera* injection, and I just can’t loose weight. Is that perhaps the problem?
Thanks for a great magazine; it really inspires me to exercise.
